On Dec. 3, a new import duty and IGST estimate feature on Alibaba.com was announced for India. Buyers in India will be able to see the import duty and IGST estimate for ready-to-ship products before placing an order on Alibaba.com. This allows buyers to use that information as a reference for business transaction and payments. \n

From 2020 Dec. 3 to 2021 Jan. 15, this feature will gradually cover all ready-to-ship Buy Now orders in India.\n

The import duty and IGST estimate shown is for reference only and the amount is not included in your payment on Alibaba.com. At destination, the actual applicable import duty and IGST will be subject to customs assessment and will be paid by the buyer.\n

As shipping fee is currently unavailable, the estimated duty and IGST will be estimated based on value of goods only. The actual import duty and IGST will be higher, subject to customs’ final assessment.\n

The order is for ready-to-ship products.\n

The import duty and IGST estimate feature is limited to 4073 categories. Orders with product beyond these categories will not be shown this feature. All categories will be covered as of Jan. 15, 2021.\n

When the shipping fee is not available, the estimated duty and IGST will be calculated on the product value. The applicable import duty and IGST charges will be higher than the estimated amounts.\n\n
